Local Trivium
So I’m making reservations for some of my gal pals tonight for Clyde’s in honor of their June $18.95 Maine lobster special, and I come across the following tidbit on their site. Here’s to you, Ron Burgundy:
“Clyde’s of Georgetown is the original. Opened in 1963 in Washington’s most fashionable neighborhood, Clyde’s was an immediate sensation. The concept was simple and sound, and new for the historic neighborhood: an updated American saloon where good food and good drink, at good value, with good company, was a good bet. Clyde’s drew a crowd from all walks of life and quickly became a local legend. The late-afternoon appetizer menu inspired the 1976 hit, Afternoon Delight, and the gold record hangs at Clyde’s today.”
